Rep. J.T. Wilcox re-elected as Leader of the Washington State House Republicans

Rep. J.T. Wilcox has been re-elected as Leader of the Washington State House Republicans. The 2nd Legislative District lawmaker from Yelm was chosen for the leadership post during the caucus reorganization meeting in Spokane today.
“You run for office so you can go to the Legislature and work hard for the people you represent,” said House Republican Leader J.T. Wilcox. “The eleven new members of the House Republican Caucus are embedded in their communities and local economies, as are the rest of the members in our caucus. We are ready to go to work for the people of Washington.”
The Washington State House Republicans also elected the rest of their leadership team:
- Deputy Leader: Rep. Joel Kretz, 7th Legislative District (Wauconda)
- Caucus Chair: Rep. Paul Harris, 17th Legislative District (Vancouver)
- Whip: Rep. Dan Griffey, 35th Legislative District (Allyn)
- Floor Leader: Rep. Jacquelin Maycumber, 7th Legislative District (Republic)
- Assistant Floor Leader: Rep. Chris Corry, 14th Legislative District (Yakima)
- Assistant Floor Leader: Rep. Peter Abbarno, 20th Legislative District (Centralia)
Additional leadership positions and House committee assignments will be announced at later dates.
The 2023 legislative session will begin January 9 and is scheduled to run 105 days.
