• Our state has an affordability crisis. The regressive carbon tax has increased the costs of food, gas and energy in our state. It comes at a great cost to individuals and families who are living paycheck-to-paycheck.
• On June 21, 2023, the Seattle Times reported that Washington gas prices were the highest in the nation for the first time. The paper stated that the compliance costs for oil companies under the Climate Commitment Act “add up to about 50 cents per gallon for the consumer, according to the Oil Price Information Service, a Dow Jones company that collects fuel-pricing information for many clients, including AAA.”
