Pike sworn in again as 18th District State Representative

Rep. Liz Pike, R-Camas, was sworn in again as an 18th District State Representative on the first day of the 2013 Legislative Session. This time, with her friends and family in attendance, Rep. Pike took the oath of office in the House chambers.

“I’m excited to be serving the people of the 18th District.  I am very thankful to those who have trusted me to represent them.  I’m ready to make sure their voices are heard in Olympia, and work to make life better for all of my constituents,” said Pike.

Pike served the district as a State Representative this summer because of a vacancy created by the appointment of another elected official. When a new representative was elected into Pike’s appointed position, she stepped aside and on Monday was sworn in for the seat she was elected to.

During the 2013 legislative session Pike will serve on four policy committees: the Education Committee; the Community Development, Housing and Tribal Affairs Committee; the Environment Committee;  and the newly formed Appropriations Committee through which the 2013 operating budget will pass. In addition Pike will serve on the Appropriations Subcommittee on Health and Human Services which w20130114_LegWA_1194scill make recommendations for health and human services programs and agencies.

“My committee schedule will keep me very busy, but I am excited to be the voice for the 18th District on so many influential committees,” Pike said.

In addition, she was also elected to serve in caucus leadership as an assistant floor leader, responsible for developing and implementing floor strategy during legislative debate. In addition, as part of the leadership team, he will help to set legislative priorities and create a plan to adopt policies supported by the caucus.

Pike’s Olympia office will be maintained by her Legislative Assistant, Garrett Delano. Contact information for the Representative is as follows:
