State lawmakers from the 47th Legislative District, which includes Covington and parts of Auburn, Kent and Renton, will hold a town-hall meeting March 23. They’ll share the latest news from Olympia with residents and answer questions about issues facing the Legislature, including K-12 education, transportation and the development of a new two-year state budget.
Sen. Joe Fain and Reps. Mark Hargrove and Pat Sullivan will be at the Golden Steer Steak n’ Rib House in Kent from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. that Saturday.
Residents are encouraged to ask questions during the event, but are also invited to send them in prior to the meeting via email at Joe.Fain@leg.wa.gov, Mark.Hargrove@leg.wa.gov and Pat.Sullivan@leg.wa.gov or by calling Sen. The 2013 regular session adjourned April 28. A special session began May 13 - budget writers and caucus leadership are negotiating an agreement before other members are called back to Olympia to vote on a final budget.
