Drew MacEwen was first elected to the House in 2012, and quickly emerged as a leader on issues including tax reform and education funding reform. Drew has brought a bold agenda to the Legislature, rooted in his experiences as both a business and civic leader in his community.
Drew is the Ranking Member on the House General Government and Information Technology Committee, and serves on the House Appropriations Committee. Additionally, he serves on the Joint Veteran and Military Affairs Committee, and the Joint Legislative Audit and Review Committee.
Drew served in the United States Navy for six years. Serving in the submarine force, Drew graduated from the Navy’s Nuclear Propulsion Program. Drew was stationed at Naval Base Kitsap, where he developed a strong bond with western Washington. He went on to complete undergraduate studies at the State University of New York, earning a Bachelor of Science degree.
Upon completion of his naval service, Drew entered the financial services industry. He is the founder and president of the investment firm Falcon Financial Inc., located in Union, Washington. Drew has also invested in other businesses in Mason and Kitsap counties, including Smoking Mo’s in Shelton, Corner Coffee and Café in Bremerton, and Central Dock in Port Orchard.
Drew is also active in several community organizations, including Rotary, Love, Inc., Mason General Hospital Foundation, Kitsap Medical Society, and is a past president of the Shelton-Mason Chamber of Commerce. Drew is an active member of the St. David’s parish community in Shelton.
A strong advocate for funding education first, Drew is also committed to reforming the state’s business and occupation tax code, improving government accountability, and encouraging private sector jobs to grow the economy. He has been recognized by local groups as well as the National Federation of Independent Business and Association of Washington Business for his commitment to these priorities.
Drew resides in Union with his family.
