Klippert appointed to Juvenile Sentencing Reform Task Force

Rep. Brad Klippert, R-Kennewick, has been appointed to the Juvenile Sentencing Reform Task Force by House Speaker Frank Chopp.
The task force is responsible for thoroughly reviewing juvenile sentencing, particularly how it intersects with the adult system.
“As a long-time law enforcement officer, as well as a school resource officer, this task force is a good fit for me,” said Klippert. “I will be able to provide some strong input based on firsthand experiences I have had with youth in the criminal justice system and in our schools. I am hopeful we can achieve the goal of the task force which is to improve the outcomes for youth, public safety and taxpayer resources.” Continue reading

Rep. Klippert receives ‘Guardian of Small Business Award’ from NFIB
June 4, 2014

Rep. Brad Klippert recently received the “Guardian of Small Business Award” from the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for his voting record in support of small business.
Award recipients are graded on votes they take during the two-year legislative cycle that help or hurt small businesses. A lawmaker must have an 80 percent voting record or higher to receive the award. Klippert had a 100 percent voting record on the 10 House bills tracked by NFIB. An event hosted by Rep. Brad Klippert, entitled “Informed Citizens: Government 101” will be held Saturday, April 26, 2014.
Klippert says the goal of the meeting is to provide constituents an overview on how to find proposed legislation (a bill), how to read proposed legislation and hopefully, most of all, how to find the truth, concerning proposed legislation. Continue reading

Klippert receives leadership award from national organization for his commitment against drunk driving

The Century Council, a national not-for-profit organization funded by distillers dedicated to fighting drunk driving and underage drinking, recently recognized Rep. Brad Klippert, R-Kennewick, with its 2013 Leadership Award.
The Council says Klippert has shown an outstanding commitment to fighting drunk driving in Washington, including championing legislation that was signed into law that represents a comprehensive set of solutions to address hardcore drunk driving in Washington, piloting a 24/7 sobriety program in five municipalities and requiring a task force to report recommendations for DUI intervention strategies.
